Chrome-to-Phone

I mentioned this app in an earlier blog, and it's a pretty cool app to have. You need Android 2.2 to use it, and either Chrome or Firefox browser.
The app allows you to send stuff directly from your browser to your phone, so if you find a link to something you want for your phone, you can send the page to your phone, open it up in your phone's browser and download whatever it is straight to your phone. Easier than downloading the file to your PC, then transferring it to your phone, or scanning a QR code.

The Chrome-to-Phone app can be found in the Market, and the extension for your browser can be found by Googling. Not sure how it works in Firefox, but in Chrome you just install the extension, and a Chrome-to-Phone button appears top right. Once you link your Google account to it, you just click this button to send anything to your phone.

A pretty cool addition to Android 2.2.

  22. Mmhh, I'm wondering if I should get an Android or Iphone. Any advice?

  23. Down to personal preference really. With Android you have a wider choice in a style of phone to get. The high end HTC phones are on par with the iPhone in functionality. Some sites rank the HTC Desire better than the iPhone.

But the iPhone does have better quality apps at the moment. The Android market still has a bit to go until the quality of the apps are as good as what you can get on the iPhone.

Though I've used both and I do prefer Android.

  24. Yeah I've been using this for a while, it's really great. Also, look up Android2Cloud - it's the reverse, sends links from Android to Chrome and also works brilliantly.

    Still supporting
